PROJECT DESCRIPTION

50,000 sq. ft. of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered and RevealShield SA Self-Adhered was installed on the Moses Cone Women’s Hospital in Greensboro, NC. 

The construction site experienced higher than average wind shear and demanded a robust WRB/Air-Barrier solution that could resist tearing during exposure. With its exceptional pressure-sensitive adhesive, WrapShield SA bonded directly to the gypsum sheathing and did not require special installation equipment or any overspray protection on the new Women’s Hospital.

WrapShield and RevealShield SA Self-adhered were compatible with the building’s multiple cladding types; ACM, terracotta, brick. This combination required less SKUs onsite and improved overall labor estimates. VaproShield’s membranes offer an exceptionally high drying capacity and will continue to facilitate ongoing drying of the building envelope for the state-of-the-art facility.

The $100 million-dollar project is due to be completed in 2019 and includes construction of a new Behavioral Health Hospital and improvements to operating rooms at Wesley Long Hospital.
