PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Over 5,000 sq. ft. of WrapShield SA Self-Adhered Water Resistive Vapor Permeable Air Barrier Sheet Membrane was installed on the Patriot Hall of Clatsop Community College in lieu of two competitive products.
In the early phases of design, a liquid-applied air barrier was specified; however, the damp coastal climate forced contractors to abandon liquid in favor of a competitive sheet good applied using primer.
Problems continued with a lack of technical field personnel and issues with primer. To address these set-backs in a timely and efficient manner, contractors removed the competitive product and turned to WrapShield SA Self-Adhered for an air-barrier solution.
WrapShield SA easily adhered to multiple substrates—including CIP concrete and gypsum board—under metal pan cladding, providing the building envelope with durable and breathable protection.
Ideal for cementitious materials, WrapShield SA Self-Adhered is entirely self-adhering, does not require primers and can be easily installed even in the dampest weather conditions. This versatility met the project’s construction delays and made installation easy.
