PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Valle Crucis Elementary School in Valle Crucis, NC, has incorporated 40,000 square feet of PanelShield SA, a vapor permeable air barrier (AB) water resistive barrier (WRB) from VaproShield into its construction, ensuring a robust and efficient building envelope. The product's installation required no primer, simplifying the application process and lowering costs. Its superb drying capacity of 26 perms will prevent moisture damage over the building's lifespan, while the aggressive adhesive ensured a quality installation to the structural insulated sheathing. PanelShield SA was used behind multiple closed-joint claddings, including wood, ACM, and stone, demonstrating its adaptability in various applications. It also withstood 12 months of UV and weather exposure making it ideal for the phased construction of Valle Crusis Elementary School.

Rough openings were flashed with BlockFlashing a self-adhered, non-asphaltic, air, water and vapor barrier flashing. VaproMat drainage matrix was installed to create a positive drainage cavity behind the cladding.
