PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The new Gerald R. Ford International Airport expansion project used over 40,000 sq.ft. of BlockShield SA over gypsum sheathing plus VaproShield flashing accessories: BlockFlashing and VaproBond. BlockShield SA is a non-asphaltic air water and vapor barrier that offers an aggressive pressure-sensitive adhesive and 12 month UV and climate exposure, the perfect choice for Michigan’s ever-changing weather.

The 157,000 sq.ft. expansion of Concourse A will accommodate projected passenger growth over the next 20 years, provide eight new gates, and bring new retail and restaurant options for travelers.
