PROJECT DESCRIPTION

WrapShield SA and Vapro-SS Flashing were used in the rough openings of this impressive nine story mass timber project.  The largest mass timber building in the US at the time of build (2021), Intro, is located next door to the historic West Side Market, dating back to 1840 and Cleveland’s oldest publicly owned market.

The installation contractor chose WrapShield SA over the originally specified fluid applied air barrier citing the detail risk, skilled labor shortages, and challenging Lake Erie weather, using a fluid applied air barrier would be an uphill battle.   The advantages of VaproShield's WrapShield SA were leveraged to accomplish specific mass timber design details and meet the project's stringent requirements with greater speed and ease.  The VaproShield Technical Team collaborated with all parties involved during pre-construction with detail review and installation best practices. 

The mission for this mass timber project to achieve is to build sustainably for the future, to inspire through innovative design, and to encourage strong, lasting community in the places people live, work and socialize.  Expected completion is 2022.
