PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Over 60,000 sq. ft. of WRAPSHIELD SA® SELF-ADHERED was applied to Eleven55 Ripley as an in-process replacement for a failing fluid-applied air barrier that was unable to withstand Maryland's cold temperatures and rainy weather. After a particularly windy night, the installation crew arrived to find the original air barrier torn and damaged.

The site's project manager explained to Durability and Design, "It wasn't pretty. The wind and rain had blown the air barrier flashing off a lot of the rough openings, and it dangled down in strips all over the building."

WRAPSHIELD SA® SELF-ADHERED requires no primers and can be installed in temperatures as low as 20°F. Installers trusted WRAPSHIELD SA® SELF-ADHERED to replace the failing fluid-applied air barrier. True to form, the water resistive, vapor permeable air barrier sheet was easy to install and allowed the construction team to make up for delays caused by the original product's limitations.
