PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The 165-year-old landmark, St. Raphael Cathedral, in Dubuque, IA is a focal point of the city as you cross the Julien Dubuque Bridge, and boasts the oldest congregation of a Christian denomination in Iowa. The $11 million renovations started in 2021, including re-roofing the beautiful, peaked structure.

The project required a roofing underlayment that would provide breathability into the existing attic. Over 10,000 sq.ft. of VaproShield’s SlopeShield Plus SA, permeable (breathable) and airtight roofing underlayment, was installed and then covered with metal shingles and snow guards. The 27,000 sq.ft. parish is now equipped to serve the generations to follow.
