PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Over 3,500 sq.ft. of SlopeShield Plus Self-Adhered (SA) vapor permeable roofing underlayment was used in the first cross-laminated timber (CLT), Grovehaus, in Miami, Florida. In addition, 3,300 sq.ft. of PanelShield SA, a permeable polyester air barrier WRB membrane, was used on the exterior walls in this mass timber build.

The innovative building envelope assembly was chosen by Atelier Mey to exploit CLT’s thermal performance and pre-manufactured precision processing thereby, reducing construction timelines by streamlining the erection and installation by the on-site trade worker.

PanelShield SA is a permeable polyester air barrier WRB membrane designed for use in panelization/modular and commercial construction was an excellent match to the CLT panel design of Grovehaus.
