PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Food Processing Plant project in Tipton, California, showcases the powerful capabilities of SlopeShield Plus Self-Adhered by VaproShield. This facility required a highly resilient, water tight, high-performance roofing assembly due to its mission-critical nature. Installed directly over the cured concrete, SlopeShield Plus SA protected the new concrete deck surface during construction, enabled crews to continue working inside, and prevented any additional moisture from reaching the concrete and internal space. The fully-adhered design ensures that the building envelope membrane remains securely in place, while compatibility with foam insulation adhesives provide strong, reliable adhesion and robust roof system wind uplift performance. Working closely with a premier TPO manufacturer, VaproShield helped create a robust roofing assembly that meets the requirements necessary for reliable performance under demanding rooftop and jobsite conditions.

Given the concrete construction, SlopeShield Plus SA was selected specifically for its ability to deliver outstanding surface protection and safeguard the building against moisture intrusion. This building envelope membrane supports the roof’s longevity, through its unique dual-functionality, which enables the roof system to effectively manage moisture. This prevents accumulation while allowing for moisture balance, thereby supporting the roof system's ability to adapt to varying environmental conditions, ensuring stability and extending the system's longevity. Additionally, the installation followed a VaproShield FBC approval to achieve the necessary uplift values, reinforcing the plant’s resilience to extreme weather. By incorporating SlopeShield Plus SA, the Food Processing Plant benefits from a high-performance, breathable roofing assembly designed to protect its critical operations from the risk of leaks and structural damage.
