WrapShield SA Self-Adhered
Rockford High School’s renovated Student Commons area features WrapShield SA Self-Adhered Water Resistive Vapor Permeable Air Barrier Membrane protecting the building envelope.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
An $8.5 million renovation to Rockford High School’s kitchen and student commons area was completed in Fall 2014. It included a 14,000 sq. ft. building addition and WrapShield SA Self-Adhered Water Resistive Vapor Permeable Air Barrier Membrane protecting the building envelope.
The project was part of a larger district-wide infrastructure upgrade that included a complete renovation of their mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems throughout the district. WrapShield SA Self-Adhered reduces high energy costs that typically occur due to air leakage. It also
allows moisture to escape the building envelope which can reduce incidents of mold, mildew and rot.
WrapShield SA Self-Adhered was installed under Trespa® Meteon® panels.
Improved indoor air quality and better insulation reduces the energy costs for the school.
