PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Tulsa Lofts project is the first LEED-certified platinum home in Oklahoma. To help achieve the highest LEED rating possible, architect Shelby Navarro had installed a combination of WALLSHIELD® Water-Resistive Barrier Sheet and WRAPSHIELD® Water Resistive Vapor Permeable Air Barrier Membrane, along with features such as a grass roof and geothermal heating. VaproShield products contribute to Navarro's innovative vision for his LEED Platinum house by having zero VOC's or requiring messy, sticky primers.
The versatility of VaproShield membranes allowed for multiple exterior wall coverings, with cedar and Corten steel, as well as the ability to use modules, which were manufactured nearby and shipped to the building site. VaproSheild's durability and 20 year warranty assisted in this flexible building plan. The project was featured on EcoBuildingPulse.com and the building serves as an example to people in the area of the accessibility and affordability of a green home.
