WallShield IT Integrated Tape
“The building's reverse-tapering form is more ‘carved' or ‘shaped' than set back,” Denari explains. “But the inverted geometry was not just a dare on our part. It was an upfront response to the tough conditions of our site and its proximity to the industrial structure of the railway.”
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
VaproShield is proud to be part of acclaimed architect Neil Denari's HL23, an extraordinary, reverse-tapering architectural landmark in New York City.
The building features 10,500 ft2 of VaproShield WALLSHIELD® in an Island International stainless steel rain screen system as the out board covering to Thermafiber. The complex concrete and steel frame structure with windows over eleven feet high, demanded the most high performing vapor and air permeable weather resistant membrane in the industry: WALLSHIELD®.
VaproShield's WALLSHIELD®, weather resistant vapor and air permeable membrane, was installed under the stainless steel rain screen cladding system, covering the installation.
The HL 23 Building is the first free standing building from acclaimed architect Neil Denari. The sculptural 14-story residential tower rises from a challenging site half beneath an elevated railway bed.
The building has acquired LEED Certification Gold featuring reflective roofing, energy saving lighting, water saving appliances, recycled materials and energy efficient windows.
