PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Nestled in the beautiful forest town of Colville, Washington, in America’s forested Pacific Northwest, Vaagen Timbers built a dream mass timber home. VaproShield is proud to be part of this sustainable, dynamic home with an expected completion date of Spring 2022.
The homeowner chose VaproShield membranes because were proven to work with mass timber. VaproShield had completed numerous large-scale mass timber projects around the U.S. Also, since VaproShield membranes are “breathable,” like Gortex® for your house, they wick moisture away from the wood substrate and diffuse the water vapor into the air. This allows the mass timber to continually dry itself out, which is exactly what is needed in the Pacific NW.
The sustainable features include native timber was sourced directly from our local fiber basket, within 100 miles of our home and the Vaagen Timber plant. Plus, both VaproShield products have zero VOCs and RevealShield SA Self-Adhered, used on the walls, offers the lowest cone calorimeter burn rating of any self-adhered air barrier WRB in the industry, helping to keep the home safe incase of a fire.
